Q: How much do Online Banking and Bill Payment cost?
A: Online Banking and Bill Payment are FREE. Use the services all you want at no charge.
Q: What hardware do I need?
A: You will need a personal computer (either Windows-based or Macintosh) with a modem, an Internet access account from an Internet service provider, and an Internet browser.
Q: What software do I need?
A: You will need either Internet Explorer 6.0 or 7.0 or Netscape Navigator 7.2 or higher to access Online Banking and Bill Payment. For best results, please use a browser with 128-bit encryption. No additional software is required.
Q: How secure are Online Banking and Bill Payment?
A: Online Banking has numerous state-of-the-art security measures built-in to ensure the confidentiality and safety of your accounts and information.
First, to access Online Banking, you must contact Indiana Bank & Trust Company and we will provide you with a password and customer number (user ID number).
(You use that customer number and password to log on to the Online Banking services within 72 hours. Then you are asked to select your own customer number and password.) You should not disclose your customer number and password to anyone you do not want to have access to your accounts. Your password is unique to you. For your protection, we suggest changing it every 90 days.
Second, Online Banking was designed using a standard browser secure socket layer that provides powerful RSA encryption. (When sending e-mail to us, do not give your whole account number -- give only the last four digits.)
Third, Online Banking has Internet server firewall protection to deny any unauthorized access to your information. We have the ability to limit your access to authorized functions.
Fourth, if you are inactive for a predetermined time of your choosing while in Online Banking, the software automatically disconnects your service. This prevents others from accessing your accounts while your PC is unattended.
Finally, Online Banking has Enhanced Login Security which protects your identity from whatever computer you're using, whether you're at home or on the go. This service does require a one time sign-up to set up your challenge questions. After signing up, if you log in from a different PC, you will be asked your challenge questions to confirm your identity.
Q: Who has access to my accounts?
A: When you sign-up for Online Banking, you are assigned a unique customer ID number (user ID) and password. You will have 72 hours to log on to Online Banking to personalize your password and customer number (user ID). (This lets you use a password and customer number that is easy for you to remember, though you should select a password that would not be obvious to others. For example, don't simply use your name.) Unless you tell others your password and customer number (user ID), you are the only person who will have access to your account.
Q: What happens the first time I use Online Banking and Bill Payment?
A: After you get your customer number (user ID) and password when you sign up for Online Banking and Bill Payment, you have 72 hours to log on to our web site. The first time you do, you will be asked to enter the customer number ID (user ID) and password we provided. Simply enter the information you were given. Then you will be instructed to change your customer number (user ID) and password. The information you specify will be your personal, private password and customer number (user ID) until you change it.
Q: How do I choose a password?
A: You can select any combination of letters and numbers for your Online Banking password. For your convenience, you'll probably want to choose a password that's easy for you to remember; however, for your protection, it's wise to select a password that would not be obvious to others. Choose a password that:
is not in the dictionary,
cannot be easily associated with you (like the names of your spouse, children, pets or favorite sports teams), and
is not a date or number which is significant to you (such as your birthday, anniversary, phone number, street address, etc.).
Q: What if I forget my password?
A: If you forget your password, simply call us toll free at 877-626-7000 and we will assign you a new one. You will then have 72 hours to log on to Online Banking with that password. Then you will be instructed to change it like you did the first time you used the service. For your protection, we will not give password information via e-mail.

If you have multiple accounts of the same type (two savings accounts, for instance), simply review your account number to distinguish between accounts.
